The journey from Marrakech to the Erg Chebbi Desert is a succession of breathtaking landscapes—from the high peaks of the Atlas Mountains to lush valleys that lead to the golden dunes of Merzouga. The grand view of the dunes will leave you awestruck, and after visiting Erg Chebbi, the sight of the green Draa Valley will seem like a dreamlike mirage.

Tour Plan

Day 01 Marrakech – High Atlas – Ait-Ben-Haddou – Dades Gorges

Upon arrival at the airport, your private driver will welcome you to begin your trip toward the Merzouga Desert. After a breakfast stop, the journey will take you through the High Atlas Mountains—an impressive labyrinth of peaks, valleys, waterfalls, and ancient forests painted in extraordinary colors. Along the way, you’ll discover villages of clay and straw still home to proud Berber traditions, among the most fascinating in North Africa.

Before reaching Ouarzazate, you’ll visit the Ksar of Ait-Ben-Haddou—an architectural gem built entirely of earth and straw, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and filming location for famous movies such as Gladiator, Game of Thrones, and Prison Break.
After the visit, continue to your Riad for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 02 Dades Gorges – Todra Gorges – Erg Chebbi

After breakfast, the journey continues through palm groves and red-earth villages toward the Todra Gorges, an incredible canyon stretching deep into the Atlas Mountains. Stop for lunch along the way, then continue to Merzouga, where the iconic camels await you for an unforgettable ride across the dunes to your desert camp for dinner under the stars.

Day 03 Erg Chebbi – Nomad Villages – Khamlia – Merzouga

Wake early to watch the sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, you’ll explore the trails once used for the Paris-Dakar Rally and visit the village of Khamlia, home to descendants of Mali and Sudan, where you’ll taste traditional Berber pizza accompanied by local drum music. After lunch, visit the old Mifiss mines before returning to your Riad/Hotel in Merzouga.

Day 04 Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Tazarine – Draa Valley – Agdz – Ouarzazate – Marrakech

After breakfast, begin your return journey passing through Rissani, then Alnif, and continue across the Atlas Mountains. You’ll enjoy stunning mountain colors before reaching Tazarine, a typical Berber town. Continue through the spectacular Draa Valley, following the river lined with lush palm groves and rich farmlands. Arrival in Marrakech is expected in the evening, with drop-off at your Riad.

Day 05 Marrakech City Tour

After breakfast, meet your local guide for a full-day exploration of Marrakech—the essence of Morocco, where tradition and modernity live side by side. Visit the Koutoubia Mosque, the vibrant Jemaa el-Fna square, the Saadian Tombs, Bahia Palace, and other fascinating sites and gardens. In the afternoon, return to your Riad and enjoy free time to wander through the Medina’s lively streets.

Day 06 Marrakech – Departure

After breakfast, free time before your departure flight. Three hours prior, return to your Riad to take the shuttle transfer to the airport.
