After crossing the mountains, we will reach the Cedar Forest in the Middle Atlas Mountains, a notable habitat for a sub-population of Barbary macaque monkeys.
Lunch stop in Midelt, situated between the Middle and High Atlas at the foot of Mount Ayachi. This town thrives on agriculture, including apple, apricot, and plum orchards, and is Morocco’s leading apple producer.
In the afternoon, descend through the Ziz Valley, crossing a vast palm oasis with panoramic views. Arrive in Erfoud, known as the “Gateway to the Desert,” close to the Erg Chebbi dunes, and famous for its fossils and dates.
Continue the journey to the desert and spend the night at a hotel or riad.
Wake up early to enjoy the stunning sunrise over the dunes. After breakfast, explore the off-road tracks used in the Paris–Dakar Rally. Visit desert nomadic villages to learn about their traditions, customs, and way of life.

Enjoy a traditional Berber dinner and gather around the campfire to listen to local music under the starry sky.
After breakfast, leave the desert for Rissani, the first imperial city of Morocco, and visit its legendary market. Continue through palm groves and red adobe villages toward the Todra Gorges in the High Atlas Mountains, a natural canyon with towering cliffs nearly 300 meters high.
Next, drive through the Dades Gorges, equally spectacular, and see the reddish earth and kasbahs along the way. Pass through the Valley of Roses, especially beautiful during spring when the roses bloom. Arrive in Ouarzazate for overnight stay at a hotel or riad.
